Canadians are famously polite — so much so that their reflexive use of the word “sorry,” even when their behavior doesn’t warrant it, has become as closely identified with this nation as hockey, maple syrup and poutine.
Canadian actor and comedian Colin Mochrie poked fun that apologizing to all Americans by saying: “On behalf of all Canadians, I’m sorry that we’re constantly apologizing for things in a passive-aggressive way, which is really a thinly veiled criticism.”
Once you are here you will find most people around you are talking politely and willing to talk to strangers, and probably they might start the topic by saying " I'm sorry" or if someone do said that to you , maybe you are just on their way or step on them ! lol
In my opinion, Canada is a great place for new starters, as everyone is trying hard to create a peaceful conversation, learning English can be easier, you can talk to cashier, bus driver or people sitting next to you on the bus. Don't be shy, just go talk to them listen to their stories or tell them yours, make good use of everyday and improve yourself !
